Most stolen cars are found within days. Miami is one of the places where that isn't a safe assumption. Customs officers at PortMiami have found stolen vehicles in shipping containers bound for the United Arab Emirates, and investigators said 274 titles had been improperly transferred in one case.
Miami-Dade runs a Seaport Operations Bureau that works vehicle theft and export cases at the port. Theft counts have fallen: FBI data shows the City of Miami Police Department at 1,096 thefts in 2025, down from 1,894, and the Miami-Dade Police Department at 2,442, down from 3,374.
Export rings choose late-model, high-value vehicles and move them fast. Titan stops that at the start: when it's armed, the car won't start or move, so it never reaches the container.
