Titan Secure vs kill switches:
no switch to find or forget.
A kill switch is a hidden switch that interrupts a circuit the car needs, such as the fuel pump or the starter. Switched off, it keeps the car from starting, even with a key.
It depends on two things: someone remembering to flip it every time, and the switch staying secret. Once a thief or a former driver knows where it is, one flip undoes it. It also can't tell you when someone is trying.
Titan is integrated by trained fitment engineers and armed by phone, auto-lock or schedule, so there's no switch to find or forget. When it's armed, the vehicle won't drive away, key or no key, and tamper alerts go out by app, email or SMS.
A kill switch is a secret, and secrets get out. Titan does the same job with nothing to find or forget, and adds alerts and live location. For anything beyond one car and one careful driver, choose Titan.

| Kill switch | Titan Secure | |
|---|---|---|
| Arming | Flip a hidden switch every time you park | By phone, auto-lock or schedule |
| If it's found | One flip undoes it | Encrypted arming, with no switch to find |
| Alerts | None | Tamper and movement alerts by app, email or SMS |
| Shared vehicles | Every driver has to know the secret, and it spreads | Role-based access: each person gets the access their role needs |
| Installation | DIY or a local installer; quality varies | Integrated by trained fitment engineers, usually in about 45 minutes |
| Location | None | Live location and trips over GPS and LTE |
Where a kill switch is enough
- One car, one driver, and you'll flip it every time.
- A project car or a vehicle that sits unused for long periods.
Why Titan wins
- Several people drive the vehicle, so a secret switch won't stay secret.
- You want an alert when someone tries, not just a car that won't start.
- You'd rather the vehicle arm itself than rely on memory.
- You want to see where every vehicle is, live, over GPS and LTE.
Using both: A kill switch you already have can stay. Titan adds what a switch can't: arming by auto-lock or schedule, an alert when someone tries, and live location.

Talk to Our TeamDo kill switches stop car theft?
A hidden kill switch can keep a car from starting while it's switched off. It fails when someone forgets to flip it or a thief finds it, and it gives no warning that someone tried.
Is Titan better than a kill switch?
For most owners, yes. Both can keep a vehicle from being driven away, but a kill switch relies on memory and secrecy and tells you nothing. Titan arms itself by auto-lock or schedule, has no switch to find, alerts you to tampering and shows live location over GPS and LTE.
Can thieves find a kill switch?
Often. Switches tend to go in the same few places, under the dash, by the seat or in the console, so a thief with a few minutes in the car can find one. On a shared vehicle, its location also passes from driver to driver.
Will a kill switch stop a relay attack?
Only if it's switched off at the time. A relayed signal or cloned key gets past the factory immobilizer but not a hidden switch that's been flipped. The catch is that it has to be flipped every single time, by every driver.
Is a kill switch practical for a fleet?
Rarely. Every driver has to know where the switch is and flip it every time, and nothing tells you when one is left on or bypassed. Titan arms vehicles by auto-lock or schedule, gives each person access by role and sends tamper alerts to whoever is responsible.
How is Titan different from a kill switch?
Both keep a vehicle from being driven away. Titan does it without a switch to hide: it's armed by phone, auto-lock or schedule, uses encrypted Bluetooth arming, alerts you when someone tampers with the vehicle and shows where it is.
