How Titan Secure
compares.

Most theft protection either shows where a vehicle went or slows a thief down. Titan shows where it is, over GPS and LTE, and keeps it from moving. Here's how that compares with what owners use most.

What each option actually does.

Five things owners need from theft protection, and how each option measures up.

Titan SecureYes: Armed, it won't drive away, key or no keyYes: By app, email and SMSYes: Auto-lock and schedulesYes: Doesn't rely on the keyYes: GPS and LTE, on everything it protects
GPS trackerNo: Reports where it wentPartly: Movement or unplug alerts on many modelsYes: Always onNo: Doesn't stop the vehicleYes: Unless the signal is jammed
AirTagNo: Can't stop a carNo: No tamper or movement alertsYes: Always onNo: Doesn't stop the vehiclePartly: Approximate, and the thief's phone may warn them
Steering wheel lockPartly: Slows a thief; can be cutNo: NoneNo: Fit it every timePartly: A key won't open it, but tools canNo: None
Kill switchPartly: Until someone finds or forgets itNo: NoneNo: Flip it every timePartly: Only while it's switched offNo: None
Factory immobilizer and alarmPartly: Without a recognized keyPartly: The alarm sounds at the carYes: Built inNo: A relayed or programmed key looks genuinePartly: Only with a connected-car service
The bottom line

Only Titan gets a yes on all five. Trackers and AirTags show where a vehicle went; locks, switches and immobilizers slow a thief down or trust the key. Titan shows where your vehicle is, keeps it from moving and doesn't rely on the key.

In depth

One comparison at a time.

Titan vs GPS Trackers

A GPS tracker shows where a stolen vehicle went. Titan tracks over GPS and LTE too, and when it's armed the vehicle won't drive away. How they compare.

Titan vs AirTags

An AirTag can show roughly where a stolen car went, and the thief's phone may warn them it's there. Titan keeps the car from moving. How they compare.

Titan vs Steering Wheel Locks

A steering wheel lock is a cheap, visible deterrent, but it can be cut and has to be fitted every time. How it compares with Titan's covert prevention.

Titan vs Kill Switches

A hidden kill switch can stop a car starting, until someone finds it or forgets to flip it. How it compares with Titan on effort, alerts and fleets.

Titan vs Factory Immobilizers

Factory immobilizers and alarms trust the key, so relay attacks and cloned keys get past them. How Titan adds a separate layer of prevention.

What's the best way to stop vehicle theft?

Layer your protection, and make one layer prevention that doesn't rely on the key, because the key is what modern thieves attack. In the table above, Titan is the only option that keeps the vehicle from moving, alerts you to tampering, needs no daily step, holds up to relay attacks and cloned keys, and shows where the vehicle is.

What's the difference between theft prevention and recovery?

Recovery tools, like GPS trackers and AirTags, help after a vehicle is gone: they show where it went. Prevention keeps it from leaving. Titan does both: it shows live location over GPS and LTE, and when it's armed, the vehicle won't drive away, key or no key.

Can I use Titan with what I already have?

Yes. Titan is a separate layer, so it works alongside a factory immobilizer, an alarm, a steering wheel lock or a tracker. It also shows live location and trips over GPS and LTE on everything it protects, which may mean you don't need a separate tracker.

Is Titan a GPS tracker?

Yes, and more. GPS and LTE are at Titan's core, so you get live location and trips, with speed and geofence alerts, for everything it protects. On top of that, when it's armed the vehicle won't drive away, which no tracker can offer.

What happens when someone tries to steal a vehicle protected by Titan?

If Titan is armed, the vehicle won't drive away, key or no key, and you get a tamper or movement alert by app, email or SMS. You can see where the vehicle is, live, over GPS and LTE.

Does Titan work for dealers, rental operators and fleets?

Yes. Titan arms vehicles by schedule or auto-lock, groups them by lot, depot or yard, and gives each person the access their role needs. Alerts go to the people responsible for each vehicle.

How is Titan installed?

Trained fitment engineers integrate the covert unit out of sight, usually in about 45 minutes. There's nothing for a thief to see, and nothing for you to fit or remove each day.
