Arizona's thefts hit a 33-year low.
The border is still close.

Arizona's theft authority counted the fewest stolen vehicles since 1992. Trucks still lead the list, and some vehicles are still driven straight to Mexico.

Arizona has spent three decades building one of the most organized responses to vehicle theft in the country. The Arizona Automobile Theft Authority counted 12,686 thefts in 2025, down 25% and the lowest total since 1992. In fiscal 2025 AATA-funded work recovered $44 million in vehicles and supported 1,349 convictions.

What gets stolen here is different. AATA's 2025 list is led by the Chevrolet Silverado, and includes the GMC Savana work van alongside Hyundai and Kia sedans. The DPS Vehicle Theft Task Force, founded in 1997, works with Mexican authorities on stolen vehicles taken across the border.

That timeline is the problem with recovery. Titan stops the vehicle at the curb: when it's armed, it won't start or move, and the owner is alerted on tamper.
